A few hundred steps from home. The gift of rain-fresh water attracts visitors who pass through, and many who stay for a season or two. Or for life. Turtles all of the way down, fingerlings lurk nearby; ducks, egrets, herons, geese all the way up, they stay for a while and then fly away. Seasonal visitors. Look closely or you will miss them, they color the day.
